| What was Zacchaeus’ little-known secret that made him rich?  WHO WAS THIS MAN? Zacchaeus was not just that “wee little man in a sycamore tree.” He was the highest-ranking publican (Lk. 19:2) collecting revenue for the Roman government. Publicans had bad reputations (often overcharged; Lk. 3:13). But Zacchaeus was different. WHAT WAS HIS SECRET OF RICHES? Regardless of present circumstances; difficult financial situation, education, training, talent, pedigree, or past failures, Zacchaeus’ secret to riches can be applied by virtually anyone, anywhere, most any time! FREE YOURSELF FROM FINANCIAL “PRISON” THE KEY IS IN YOUR HAND! His method had two parts: GIVING HALF OF HIS GOODS TO THE POOR and TREATING OTHERS FAIRLY (Lk. 19:8). Notice the second thing mentioned about him: “…he was rich.” (Lk. 19:2), and the FIRST THING he said when meeting Yahshua were those two parts (Lk. 19:8). A GENEROUS GIVER WILL BECOME A GENEROUS RECEIVER Did generosity work for Zacchaeus? ABSOLUTELY. Will it work for YOU? What Does It Take? IT TAKES THE NERVE OF ZACCHAEUS, THE COURAGE TO GIVE…GENEROUSLY. “He that has a bountiful (“generous” SEC) eye shall be blessed for he gives of his bread to the poor.” (Prv. 22:9). “The generous man will be prosperous…” (Prv. 11:25). “He who is gracious to a poor man lends to Yahweh, and He will repay him for his good deed.” (Prv. 19:17). These are promises from Yahweh. And we know He cannot lie. NOTICE Zacchaeus did not give of his time but of HIS GOODS. His material possessions. EVEN WHEN THE CHIPS ARE LOW, THERE IS STILL SOME LEFT FOR GIVING.
