(Copyright) by David Rives (Tennessee)  There are eight species of bears worldwide—the Asiatic black bear, also known as the moon bear, giant panda, Malayan sun bear, sloth bear, spectacled bear, brown bear, American black bear, and polar bear. Some of these species have subspecies, such as the grizzly bear, a subspecies of the brown bear. A couple of years ago I traveled to British Columbia, Canada and interacted with a real-life grizzly.
