The War on America’s Christian Heritage
(Copyright 08-07-2025) by Eddie Hyatt (Grapevine, Texas) A federal judge has blocked a new Arkansas law requiring Ten Commandments displays in public school classrooms, citing concerns about the separation of church and state, which is not in the Constitution. Similar laws in Louisiana and Texas are also facing legal challenges. The photo above is of a Ten Commandments monument being removed from the Oklahoma State Capital Grounds after a federal judge declared it unconstitutional and ordered it removed. This government animosity towards the Bible is ironic considering that the first English Bible printed in America in 1782 was created for “use in schools” […]
Does America Have a Sacred Heritage? Dr. King Thought So!
(Copyright) by Eddie Hyatt (Grapevine, Texas) Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. believed there was something holy and sacred about America’s founding. He obviously considered the Jim Crow south, where he lived and worked, to be a sharp departure from America’s founding vision. Writing in 1963 from the Birmingham city jail, Dr. King declared, Our destiny is tied up with the destiny of America . . . We will win our freedom because the SACRED HERITAGE of our nation and the eternal will of God are embodied in our echoing demands. Frederick Douglass (1816-1895), the former slave and passionate abolitionist, came to the […]

Of particular interest has been the period around 1820-1880; the supposed ‘missing link’ in Sabbatarian history; how the doctrines of the Church were assembled; how they were sourced; and the mysterious ways God works to bring this about. When I was still investigating the Truth in the mid-1970s, I did notice some similarities between the Churches of God to other groups such as the Jehovah Witnesses, Seventh-day Adventists, Second Adventists, British-Israelites etc. Further investigation proved enlightening. As […]
Why America’s Survival Depends on the Recovery of Her “Sacred Heritage”
(Copyright) by Eddie Hyatt (Grapevine, Texas) America’s founders were far from perfect, but they established the nation on Judeo/Christian principles that they believed would serve as a moral compass to guide the nation through any difficulty or crisis she might face. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. understood this and writing from the Birmingham city jail, where he had been incarcerated, he acknowledged the nation’s “sacred heritage” and declared it to be a basis for his confidence the fight for racial equality would succeed. He wrote, We will reach the goal of freedom in Birmingham, and all over the nation, because the goal […]
