| It’s more than obvious that the United States is divided, yet far too many people are not willing to admit how dangerous the American condition is. Why is it that Americans are pitted against one another on numerous issues, yet there is an attitude that somehow such a reckless disregard for one another can continue without serious consequences? Differences are so serious that the country will collapse if people don’t wake up before it’s too late. America is living on borrowed time, and a complete change in individual and collective attitudes must take place if the nation is to survive. The blame game started in the Garden of Eden and has grown like a terminal stage four cancer ever since. An attitude of I’m okay, but you are not is the mindset of far too many people. Civility is missing because there is a lack of respect and concern towards one another. Americans, overall, are not taking a cold hard look at themselves as they should. Isaiah 58:9 – “… Then you shall call, and the Lord will answer … if you take from the midst of the yoke (burdens you place upon yourselves), the putting forth of the finger (stop pointing the finger at others saying they are the problem) and speaking vanity (stop being stubborn and proud insisting that self is right).” Because the vast majority of people do not have spiritual values based upon the Bible in their lives, the country is headed for civil unrest and ruin if repentance doesn’t take place. When a nation turns on itself from within, enemies from without divide and conquer. One scripture defines America’s true condition today, yet completely disregarded individually and collectively by the majority of people. Notice the following verse is all inclusive. Matthew 12:25 – And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation (total destruction); and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand. Why is this the American condition? Because America is spiritually bankrupt due to its blatant disobedience to God. There are conditions that must be met if America is to survive, but how many people will make the necessary changes required? Rarely does Hollywood produce a movie in which a superhero doesn’t save the day. Regardless of how difficult any set of circumstances are, Hollywood has made sure that America can withstand anything that comes its way. It’s not reality, yet it fits within the comfort zones of moviegoers. For anyone who can see the movie “Civil War,” it will offer a small glimpse into America’s future if changes aren’t made. |
