![]() SERMON-ON-THE MOUNT IS 111 VERSES LONG COVERING 3 CHAPTERS. ONLY 16 VERSES ARE COMMONLY QUOTED (14 percent)! WHAT ABOUT THE OTHER 95? HERE ARE COMMON AND NOT-S0-COMMON QUOTES, COMMON QUOTES: BLESSINGS TO HIS DISCIPLES: Matthew Chapter Five “Blessed are the Poor in Spirit: for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven.” (5:3) “Blessed are the Merciful: for they shall obtain Mercy.” (5:7) “Blessed are the Pure in Heart: for they shall See Yahweh [“God”; KJV].” (5:8) “Blessed are the Peacemakers:…shall be called the People of Yahweh.” (5:9) “Let your Light so Shine before men, that they may See your Good Works, and Glorify your Father which is in Heaven.”(5:16) NOT COMMONLY QUOTED: STILL CHAPTER FIVE “Think not that I am come to destroy the Law, or the Prophets: I am not come to destroy…” (5:17). Not a Jot or a Tittle: “Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the Law…” (5:18) Fulfill? The last part of these two verses uses “fulfill”. Does “fulfill” mean to “do away with, destroy” making the Law no longer required? This word means “to fully perform”. Since Yahshua said he came not to destroy the Law (said it twice), then “fulfill” cannot mean came to destroy it. The Least: “Whosoever…shall break ONE of these Least commandments, and Teach Men so,…Shall be…the Least in the Kingdom of Heaven: BUT whosoever shall Do them and Teach them…shall be…Great in the Kingdom of Heaven.” (5:19) What if you break one of the greatest commandments and teach men to break them? Then what? Which ones are the Least? Pharisees professed to Keep the Law-But Did Not (Matt. 16:3, 12) “Except your Righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the Pharisees, you shall in no case enter the Kingdom of Heaven.” (5:20). Matthew Chapter Six: Sermon Continues Model Prayer (6:9-13) Where Your Treasure Is: “Lay not up for Yourselves Treasures upon Earth…But lay up for Yourselves Treasures In Heaven…For where Your Treasure is, There will your Heart be…” (6:19-21) “…Seek you First the Kingdom of Yahweh, , and His Righteousness; and All these things will be added to you.” (6:32) Matthew Chapter Seven: Sermon Continues “And Why beholdest thou the Mote that in your Brother’s Eye BUT considered Not the Beam that is in thine Own Eye.” (7:3) “…whosoever is Angry with his Brother without Cause shall be in Danger of the Judgment.” (7: 22) Who is Our Brother? “…Whosoever shall do the Will of Yahweh, the same is My Brother, and my Sister, and Mother.” (Mk. 3:35) The Golden Rule: “…all things whatsoever you would that men should do to you, do you even so to them…” (7:12) “Beware of False Prophets which come to you in Sheep’s Clothing, but inwardly they are Ravening Wolves…by their Fruits you shall know Them [Not what they Say, but what they Do.” (7:15) SERMON ON THE MOUNT WARNING OF JUDGMENT “Many will say to Me in that day, Master, Master, have we not prophesied in thy Name? ‘And in thy Name have cast out devils? and in Thy Name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I Never knew You: Depart from Me, ye that Work Iniquity.”(Matt. 7:22-23) ——————————————————————————————————- Reprinted with permission from: International Congregation of Yahweh http://www.icyahweh.org/ ——————————————————————————————————- |
