 In December last year I was advised of a large trailer of old WCG literature and after request after request to salvage it all, it came very close to being dumped. After some toing and froing, a couple of members finally went through all of it and they both took some of it including those items I did not need. I was sent the sort of items I need for preservation and archiving – old papers, theses, handouts, policy documents etc. For instance, McDowell’s thesis on funeral customs is among the goodies as well as the policy documents I have been seeking. Plus, other items I was not aware of. The box of goodies took almost a month to arrive but arrive it did so all is well that ends well. Of course, in terms of administration, policy and even doctrine, much of this has been superseded. On the other hand, some guidelines and teachings seem to have been forgotten over the years. Anyway, I merely upload this information to my site for archiving and research – and it is certainly interesting to see how the Church worked and thought in those days. You can find them in the appropriate sections such as ‘Bible’ or ‘Ministerial Resources’ etc. I just don’t have the time to link to each of them, but where they are located on my site is logical. http://www.friendsofsabbath.org/ABC.htm The process was not without its technical issues, tediousness, having to disassemble documents etc to enable scanning, but in the end all’s well that ends well! However, there are still 1970s tapes I am waiting to be sent for a friend to convert to MP3. Persistence pays!
