First of all, great job on both the old and new websites. They’re easy to navigate, either by searching for keywords or by clicking on authors. The parrot photo for the old, and the sheep photo for the new, are a nice touch. Also, the editors’ corrections were appropriate (and gracious) regarding the Passover confusion. Your follow-up was also scripturally based. We definitely want to avoid error and base our understanding on corrected mistranslations of the Bible rather than the thoughts or traditions of men (often based on bias, misunderstanding or personal agenda). Thanks to the following authors for their inspiring true-life stories of miracles: Bill Glover (Eugene, OR) “Does God Heal Today?” (3-9-21); Laura Lee (Bismarck, ND) “Angel Sighting” (3-3-21); and Curtis Dahlgren (Stephenson, WI) “Wicked Spirits v. the Holy Spirit (& miracles)” (9-19-24 (old website). He recommended Miracles and Other Wonders by Charles Sellier. Recommendations of good books about God’s amazing miracles are always much appreciated. Miracles, Missionaries & Martyrs Thriftbooks also recommends the Chicken Soup for the Soul series, with at least a dozen books about miracles, angelic encounters, etc. There are many other books with inspiring true-life stories about God working miracles of: l) messages from God to us (answers to prayer or anticipated needs found in scripture, articles or books, affirmations from others, dreams or circumstances/open doors) or things God wants us to tell others (being given the right thing to tell others when they want to know more about God) 2) finance (money arriving in the exact amount needed at the right time without asking anyone; giving one’s last dollar to someone in need then being blessed a thousandfold) 3) tools & equipment (working when it’s physically impossible) 4) networking (encountering the right person/people at the right time and the right place) 5) protection (guardians visible to potential adversaries, warning/preventing accidents, protection during disasters, or rescues afterward) 6) healing (from spiritual depression, life-threatening injuries or chronic, terminal illness) 7) resurrection (back to physical life after being dead for an hour or more) 8) deliverance (tormenting spirits fleeing a person or being cast out) Some other excellent books are A Thousand Shall Fall (by Susi Hasel Mundy); God’s Smuggler and Secret Believers (by Brother Andrew); God’s Smuggler to China and Project Pearl (by Brother David); Eternity in their Hearts (by Don Richardson); Tortured for Christ (by Richard Wurmbrand); Hearts of Fire: Voice of the Martyrs (by Gracia Burnham); and Extreme Devotion (by Voice of the Martyrs team). (Michael Wurmbrand, son of Richard, began Voice of the Martyrs. After ‘wolves in sheep’s clothing took it over, he began Help For Refugees. VOTM collects donations but doesn’t actually help persecuted Christians, as Michael still does). There are also many other books about angelic encounters; the life stories of missionaries; and how ‘house churches’ thrive under Communist oppression and persecution in eastern Europe and southeast Asia; and how converts to Christ survive despite persecution and threats, especially from Muslims, but also Hindus or Buddhists). (We already know how for centuries Catholics persecuted Protestants, although they both still teach many errors). God holds us accountable for what we know, and even if someone doesn’t (yet) understand all the truth, He respects their integrity when they stand up for the true God despite hardship, persecution, torture or even death. People like this will awaken in the ‘second’ resurrection, hungry and thirsty to learn more of the truth (and unlearn error). They will lead by example many others who have never heard of Christ. It will be marvelous to see the ‘innumerable multitude, which no man can number’ of Revelation 7:9, described in verse l4-l7. Another reference is I Corinthians 5:23-24 the firstfruits and the end [ones]. In Revelation 2l:3-4 God will dwell with men and wipe away every tear. In verse 24 the nations of those who [will be] saved shall walk in the New Jerusalem. In Revelation 22:3-4 they shall be the servants of God and the Lamb, and reign forever and ever. Editor’s Note: Thank you for your great input. It is appreciated. Laura Lee |
