| If you have been following the news on the war in Ukraine, you may wonder if we are getting the truth or a narrative that is geared to maintain our confidence in the policies of Western leaders. It seems that most of these “enlightened” leaders are hell-bent on destroying Russia at the expense of many Ukrainian lives and an unbearable amount of our tax dollars. The main fear now is if this war will lead to a nuclear confrontation with Russia. The sanctions imposed by the West on Russia have primarily boomeranged on the nations of Europe who depend upon Russia for much needed energy supplies. The intent of the sanctions may be twofold: Crush Russia economically and wean Europe away from fossil fuels. When will the madness stop? I have three videos that I wish to share with others on the matter. Jeffrey Sachs is an economist from Columbia University. He explains that the current situation with Russia goes back to the 1990s with the collapse of the Soviet Union. Russia needed economic help as did other nations. Rather than America helping Russia as we had done around the same time with other nations in financial straits, we couldn’t let go of our old spirit of rivalry against Russia. We had a chance to build a new relationship with Russia, yet we lusted to be “King Nation” of the world. This unrestrained arrogance of our leaders has caused us to be involved in unnecessary conflicts at the expense of American lives and burdened us with runaway debt which will eventually destroy our economy. One definition of arrogance says, “the state or quality of being arrogant; overbearing pride; offensive display of superiority or self-importance.” What does God say about arrogance? “Foreigners consume his strength, but he does not notice. … Israel’s arrogance [pride – KJV] testifies against them, yet they do not return to the LORD their God; despite all this, they do not seek Him. So, Ephraim [America] has become like a silly, senseless dove” (Hosea 7:9-11). “Their deeds do not permit them to return to their God. A spirit of prostitution [paying money] is in their heart; they do not acknowledge the Eternal God. Israel’s arrogance [pride] testifies against them; Israel and Ephraim stumble in their iniquity; even Judah stumbles with them” (Hosea 5:4-5). “Indeed, you [God] deliver the oppressed, but you bring down those who exalt themselves in their own eyes” (Psalm 18:27 – International Standard Version). Jeffrey Sachs gives a powerful testimony confirming God’s convicting charges of the arrogance of Britain and the United States. Promises were made to Russia but were wantonly broken because of our arrogance. It reminds me of the treaties that were signed with Native Americans in a previous century. Colonel Douglas Macgregor in another video has some excellent insight of where things stand with Russia and what to expect. Will our leaders heed his advice and wisdom? Probably not until all of their feathers have been plucked. The first video listed below is short. Michael Matt provides some good commentary and includes clips from Jeffrey Sachs and Colonel Macgregor. This video will serve as a kind of introduction to the other two videos. If our national leaders don’t humble themselves and seek God, then we are certainly headed for troublous times as predicted by the Bible. https://youtu.be/8kq9vSDD0vo Michael Matt – “World War” https://youtu.be/wmOePNsNFw0 Jeffrey Sachs – “Arrogance of U.S. and Britain” https://youtu.be/nP8hQErZ6MM Col. Macgregor – “War in Ukraine Can Be Stopped Today” Editor’s Note: How to tell the difference between a Manassite and an Ephraimite: Jdg 12:1 And the men of Ephraim gathered themselves together, and went northward, and said unto Jephthah, Wherefore passedst thou over to fight against the children of Ammon, and didst not call us to go with thee? we will burn thine house upon thee with fire. Jdg 12:2 And Jephthah said unto them, I and my people were at great strife with the children of Ammon; and when I called you, ye delivered me not out of their hands. Jdg 12:3 And when I saw that ye delivered me not, I put my life in my hands, and passed over against the children of Ammon, and the LORD delivered them into my hand: wherefore then are ye come up unto me this day, to fight against me? Jdg 12:4 Then Jephthah gathered together all the men of Gilead, and fought with Ephraim: and the men of Gilead smote Ephraim, because they said, Ye Gileadites are fugitives of Ephraim among the Ephraimites, and among the Manassites. Jdg 12:5 And the Gileadites took the passages of Jordan before the Ephraimites: and it was so, that when those Ephraimites which were escaped said, Let me go over; that the men of Gilead said unto him, Art thou an Ephraimite? If he said, Nay; Jdg 12:6 Then said they unto him, Say now Shibboleth: and he said Sibboleth: for he could not frame to pronounce it right. Then they took him and slew him at the passages of Jordan: and there fell at that time of the Ephraimites forty and two thousand. Ephraim = Great Britain (Ephraim is unable to pronounce the “h”.)
