The following is not meant to criticize, because I think the work you are doing is worthwhile to some individuals.
However, I doubt that many folks who read the newsletter are able to discern between correct and incorrect biblical truth (as you assume), especially when the scattered assemblies of the elect are dysfunctional at best, with each having very different views on basic biblical teachings (including myself).

In my view the Iron Sharping Iron section is counterproductive and engenders animosity and strife between individuals.

Having said this, Please, do not print or refer to anymore of my material in the newsletter.

My Response:
I think he just called God’s church dysfunctional and the people in it stupid. Oops!

I have noticed that those who have different views in regard to basic biblical teachings do one of two things:
They look at what other people have to say to them in regard to their different beliefs
Or they get mad, write nasty letters to me and then unsubscribe

The reason that some people look at what other people have to say is because these people truly want to get it right according to scripture. It does not always mean that they will switch their current belief in regard to any given subject, but they are open to hearing and saving that knowledge until such a time that the light bulb gets brighter or dims all together in regard to any given subject. These are the people God wants, because they still have an ability to learn.

The reason that the second group gets mad, writes nasty letters to me and then unsubscribe is because they have no intention of listening to what anyone else has to say. They believe what they believe, and they are not going to change what they believe. They have a closed mind and do not have the ability to learn at this time.

In our first newsletter from 2001 to 2009 we used to answer letters in regard to articles. So, what is the difference between answering a letter or answering an article with an “Iron Sharpening Iron”? People as a general rule only want to be right. No one wants to be told they are wrong or even that they may be wrong.

In our first newsletter from 2001 to 2009, we used to turn down all articles we did not agree with but then we would let people know why we turned down their article. Some of these private email discussions were quite time consuming. We had more time back then. Now we don’t.

This newsletter now is set up to print both articles we agree with and those we do not agree with. With that comes discussion which should not be private. If the above email would have been of a personal nature, we would not have printed it. However, it has been printed because it is about the newsletter and the people who read it.

It may not look like it to most of you, but those who send items here for print can sometimes be a very large challenge to us. Some items we don’t research such as ads, announcements etc., some items only require a little bit of research, and some require many hours of research. People need to be challenged in regard to what they believe and that includes us. If you are not willing to be challenged in regard to what you believe then this is not the newsletter for you.

There seems to be a pattern emerging here. It has happened three times now in less than two years. A reader is challenged because of an article they wrote and submitted for print. They get mad, write a nasty or somewhat nasty letter to us and then they unsubscribe. So far, the only people who have told us or insinuated that we should get rid of the “Iron Sharpening Iron” section are these three people. And if we did get rid of that section it would all just be addressed in a more expanded letters section. So, what would be the difference?

If one wants to have differing beliefs, they should really know how to prove them through plain and clear scriptures.

This newsletter was set up with the intent to challenge people even if they never send us one single item to print. It is very important for all of us to get on the same page with God and that can only be done by studying the Bible and challenging or being challenged by hard discussions with other people. We are not here to change your beliefs, because we can’t do that. Whether you change your beliefs is up to you and what scripture actually says.

Anything which has already been printed in this newsletter can be referred to by anyone who wants to refer to it for whatever the reason. And we will not print any more of your articles unless you send them to us in the future. (Laura Lee)

  • I wrote to you about David’s TEMPLE in 2025; a sure sign of the great tribulation’s advent. I did NOT receive your reply as USPS steals mail. I
am sure preparation for flight to placeS of safety & signs are paramount to obvious doctrine.
Churches give more weight to words than images. Maps used to have importance as charts, drawings.
